Atalanta Analysis: Looking to climb to the UCL berth
After playing against Marseille on Thursday night in the opening leg of their Europa League semi final match, Atalanta travels to the Stadio Arechi. In their most recent Serie A match, Atalanta defeated Empoli 2-0 at home over the weekend. After halftime, Atalanta scored both goals to secure the maximum number of points. After defeating Empoli, Atalanta has won five of their previous six Serie A games. There have been victories against Napoli and Monza in addition to draws against Juventus and Verona at home. The one setback occurred during a disheartening 2-1 loss against Cagliari. Isak Hien, the suspended defenseman, is not with Atlanta. Emil Holm and Rafael Toloi are both injured, and the team will be evaluated after the Marseille match.
Salernitana Analysis: Coming from a tough loss
Salernitana enters the game coming off a 3-0 loss in Serie A last weekend at Frosinone. Salernitana gave up the first goal after just ten minutes, and fifteen minutes later they were behind 2-0. In the 85th minute of the second half, Frosinone netted their third goal. Following their loss at Frosinone, Salernitana has now dropped their past 17 games across all competitions. Six of their last seven Serie A games have ended in losses, with the other three coming from away games against Lazio, Bologna, and Cagliari as well as home losses to Lecce and Fiorentina. The only match that did not result in a loss was the home 2-2 draw against Sassuolo. Salernitana is without Niccolò Pierozzi, a midfielder, due to suspension. In addition to the injuries sustained by Guillermo Ochoa, Giulio Maggiore, and Grigoris Kastanos, Norbert Gyömber and Jérome Boateng’s fitness is in question.
